International Transgender Day of Visibility (often referred to as TDOV or Trans Day of Visibility) is an annual event occurring on March 31 1 2 dedicated to celebrating transgender people and raising awareness of discrimination faced by transgender people worldwide, as well as a celebration of their contributions to society. People from across the LGBTQ+ community came together Thursday evening to celebrate Transgender Day of Visibility at Ode to Food and Drinks in downtown Sioux Falls. TDOR is held every year on November 20 to memorialize the transgender people who have lost their lives as a result of anti-transgender violence. By protecting them from harm you are changing the future, creating a more inclusive and kind world for all. TDOV should not be confused with Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR). Do your absolute best to call out transphobia, stick up for your trans friends, and generally be a good human when it comes to trans rights and equality. What began with Crandall-Crocker reaching out to friends on Facebook and asking them to celebrate the day soon spread across the country and the world.
